Can Chat: Whisperstrike Lifesaver 22 — A Rimfire Can That Refuses to Stay in Its Lane

Most .22 suppressors are built for one job: quiet plinking. The Whisperstrike Lifesaver 22 does that, but it also carries a rating that makes people do a double-take — up to 5.56 on a 16-inch barrel, 30 rounds before you let it cool.
In the latest Can Chat, we took it to the range and put that claim to the test.

What it is:

Six inches long, one inch in diameter, 5.44 ounces. All titanium, Cerakote finish, 1/2x28 direct thread. The standout feature is the fully serviceable 3D-printed titanium monocore — it threads straight to the barrel for alignment, while the outer tube floats around it. That design keeps point-of-impact shift minimal and lets you actually open the can for cleaning, which most rimfire suppressors won't let you do.
Sound reduction is rated up to 30 dB. Round-count limits scale with the cartridge: 200 rounds of belt-fed 22LR before cooling, 45 rounds of 5.7x28, 30 rounds of 5.56 on a 16-inch barrel, and even 4 rounds of 22 Creedmoor if you're feeling brave.

On the range:

We started on a 16-inch Savage bolt action with supersonic Remington bulk ammo. You still hear the crack — that's the bullet breaking the sound barrier, not the can — but the report itself was clean and controlled.
Switch to 60-grain Sniper subsonics and it got genuinely quiet. The kind of quiet where you notice the difference immediately.

Then we moved to a Ruger Mark IV 22/45 Lite. Same subsonics, same result — super quiet on a pistol. A side-by-side with a Lone Star Silencers Bandit on a Taurus showed both cans doing their job well; the Lifesaver held its own.

The takeaway:

This is a rimfire can that doesn't feel limited to rimfire. Lightweight enough to live on a pistol or a precision 22, tough enough to handle a short burst of 5.56 when you need it. The serviceable core is a real advantage if you shoot a lot of 22LR — lead buildup is the enemy of rimfire cans, and this one lets you fight back.
